About the ALN

The new initiative Adult Learning Network (ALN) / Réseau apprentissage chez les adultes (RAA) was launched in August 2009. It pursues the vision of the Adult Learning Knowledge Centre (AdLKC) of the Canadian Council on Learning which closed on July 6, 2009. This transition initiative ensures the opportunity to develop a bilingual pan-Canadian forum on adult learning. Download the ALN-RAA brochure.

Our Goal

We strive to maintain and sustain a network of key stakeholders—governments, educational institutes, community organizations, researchers, practitioners and learners. Our goal is to build a bilingual pan-Canadian exchange place where it is possible to exchange knowledge, to share strategies and to further research in the field of adult learning.

Our Mandate

The mandate of the ALN is to foster and support a vital, informed, and coherent pan-Canadian culture of lifelong learning that is accessible and relevant to all Canadians.

Our Structure

The director Danielle Charron is supported by the Network Committee and its Executive Committee composed of volunteers from different sectors and regions of Canada. Ad hoc committees are created as required. The Faculty of Education of the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton is the supporting agency for the administrative and financial activities of the ALN.

Partners

Thank you to the UNB Faculty of Education, the Canadian Council on Learning and the New Brunswick Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour for their financial and in-kind support.
